Beautiful Sunday

Nate, Cliff, Ryan, and I got to go with Grandma & Grandpa Taylor and Uncle Jake to Enders after church yesterday. After some intial complecations (battery problems with the boad) we took off. Grandma brought hot dogs and marshmellows to toast on the beach and the kids had a great time jumping off of the boat into the water. Cliff love being out on the water and is not scared of anything. When Grandma's hat blew off he baled out of the boat and paddled over to get it. No big deal except that the water is a lot colder in the middle than on the edges. Nate does not like to go fast, does not like the way the front of the boat comes up, nor does he like turning sharp corners. He would prefer to jump off of the boat in a cove somewhere and skip the ride. Ryan does not like the wind when the boat is going and isnt quite big enough for the life jacket to be comforable. We think that next time we will invite Grandma and Grandpa Ferguson also so that Nate and Ryan can stay closer to shore. Thanks for the great day Grandma and Grandpa!

We received this picture of Josh's cousin's baby the other day. This is Coleton, Ryan's 2nd cousin (I think). Don't they look similar? I have yet to get a picture of Ryan with his brow furrowed that much, but that is because I am usually trying to get him to quit crying when he is making that face. Coleton, you are very cute, I hope I get to meet you someday!

While I was cooking dinner this evening I hear from the back porch, "Nate, this is how you use a knife." Concerned I asked, "What are you guys doing?" Cliff says, "Nate's frog died, so we are disecting it!" Eeewww! I am one of the few people who managed to get through highschool and four years of college with out disecting anything! I am glad to have missed out on the experience and don't feel at all jipped that my science education is lacking. Amy, I hope you are proud of them!

It was so good to see our friends Jeff and Gretchen this weekend and their new little guy, Mason! Congratulations guys! God is awesome!

I got it!

When we had our 20 week ultrasound we could see that our baby was sucking his thumb. Since he has been born he has been trying to catch it, but it just moves so fast! I had been saying from the beginning that I wasn't going to let him suck his thumb because Clifton had such a hard time giving it up. The past few weeks Ryan has been getting more and more frantic trying to get it and often will suck on his fist when he is done nursing. He really does not want anything to do with a pacifier anymore. I have accepted the fact that Ryan didn't really care if Mommy doesn't want him to, he is going to suck it. Last night he finally caught that thumb. He didn't let go until he was fast asleep. He is pretty cute!
