Things have changed!

Wow how things change in a short amount of time! A few months ago, I was sitting in church listening to Todd preach and thinking that something was coming to rock our world. Things were rolling along great, the kids were reasonably content, I was content, I thought my husband was content. But even though I was happy and things were just rolling along, I knew that God had something coming, because he doesn't keep us on the mountain top, and we don't grow when we are on the mountain top. I figured it would be some financial crisis, because that is what usually sends us to our knees.

I was right, but it was not at all what I expected. Yes, we did get hit with a financial situation, BUT I found out that my husband had not been quite as content as I thought. He was completely NOT content with his job. He liked the guys he worked with, but he likes to go to work and get something done. The politics of waiting for management to decide what was to be done only to have a different member of management change the plan mid stream was driving him crazy! Sitting in the back of the truck for hours driving from one job site to another was driving him crazy AND instead of complaining overly much to me about it he was praying for direction. He didn't tell me he was praying, he just was doing it behind my back unbeknownst to me.

So, imagine my surprise when he tells me that his job is driving him crazy and he wants to find a ranch job up in the Sand Hills close to his brother, this is the same man who told me three years ago that he hates cows and never wants to have to work with them ever again. When I reminded him of this he says, "Well, it is different if I don't own them." WHAT! No it isn't! Ok, fine lets look for jobs. There won't be any right? There were four or five. Around that same time a man in our church was having some complications stemming from his open heart surgery. We were talking about what this man's son would do with all of that farm ground and no help. While we were having this conversation I picked up the news paper and saw a help wanted add that the son had placed. The next day Josh called and that afternoon we were interviewing.

This job comes with a house though smaller than the house we own. The house is in the country with lots of room for boys to run, play, and build forts. The only complication is that it is 60 miles away from Grant and all of our friends. Well, not all of our friends, but our closest friends. There were a lot of ups and downs with the decision and moving process it was really hard. One night after I had been sobbing my eyes out on Josh's chest, I fell asleep still sniffling he laid there beside me praying. He heard God audibly tell him to, "Go!" The next morning I sat in church again listening to Todd preach and had a sense of complete peace for us to go. Josh had not told me yet about his experience from the night before. From that moment on even though the boys and I had some definite moments when we did not want to go, we have known that it was God's will and he was going to take care of us.

I love that after a year of home schooling, which means we have had time in prayer and Bible study every day, that the twins know that if God tells you to do it you do it. We don't always like it and can not see the good in it at the time, but we know that he will bless it. It was so refreshing for me in the past 4 weeks that they would come to me and say, "Mom I can see how God is blessing our move in this way." They also could hear God speaking to them through our Bible reading and even through Christian radio. "How does God do that?" they ask me. "He is God." I tell them.

We are "moved" into our new home. (Meaning that we sleep here and there are boxes piled with stuff in them and we don't know where to put it.) Josh and I love the layout of the house and are excited for our future. We still have some cleaning to do on the house we own and several little fix it projects to finish up, but we know that this is where we belong.
